We are using Accounts Payable 9.3A (171027).
Yesterday one of the staff, while entering invoices, had messages" Menu Invalid " and " Invalid Pointer Operation " appear on the computer screen.
Today when trying to print cheques from the same work station, the following message appeared" Access violation at address 00579555 in module 'Payable.exe' Read of address 0000001C".
We were not able to print the cheques at the work station.
The cheques were printed at another work station with no messages or errors.
Both work stations are using the same version.
Any suggestions ?
Thank you

Do you have printers (and a default printer) set up on the failing workstation? If you reboot the workstation does the problem disappear? If you log in as another user on the workstation, does the problem disappear?

There is a default printer set up for the problem workstation.
We used the same printer to successfully run the cheques from the other workstation.
A reboot did not solve the problem.
We will have a different user log in on the problem workstation on the next cheque run.
I will update after the next cheque run.

An update:
We ran a data integrity check - no errors
We restarted the problem workstation and processed batches and successfully ran cheques , using the original user log in.
Everything appears to be working.

I have had intermittent problems with my Windows 10 laptops when a "Windows Update" has partially self-installed and a reboot has not been done. I believe (although I do not have any specific knowledge about this process) that there are sometimes OS files that cannot be updated "on the fly" and version compatibility issues cause unpredictable workstation performance.

I always start with a workstation reboot - sometimes with a 16 second power down. It's remarkable how many problems disappear after that.

Thanks for the update@
