My client is having recurring issues in Adagio where batches disappear. She will run a D.I.C. and typically gets errors in the Batch Status. (She will give better specifics next time it happens).

She rebuilds the data and then the batches are back. This is happening mostly in AP, but also in Invoices, GL, and AR. Her versions are:
AP 9.2A 150609
Invoices 9.2A 150428
GL 9.2A 150903
AR 9.2a 150625

She is running via Remote Desktop on Windows 2008 R2

Needless to say, this is quite disruptive. Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
Carol

Carol:

Are all users connecting via Remote Desktop?

OpLocks setting?

SMB setting?

Do the users log off the RDP connection or just click on the X to close the session?

Sounds a lot like the batches are being written to a virtual memory and then not flushed to the hard drive.

As far as I know, they are closing properly. She is doing so and will confirm this with her co-worker tomorrow.

It seems to be happening pretty randomly - they'll be working and then the batches are "gone" then they run DIC and they reappear. They've been up and running in this environment for a few years and this is something new. (And frustrating!)

Op Locks - Enabled.
SMB Settings - SMB2

The Data Integrity check ALWAYS shows 4 errors in the Batch Control file. The rebuild puts the batches back.

Update -- here is another issue:

When she was posting the batch, she got this error:

"Error 4104 occurred when attempting to append record to Check Rec Batch Header."

So, this time, the vendors were updated and GL batches were created but the Check Rec was not updated.

Weird.

Hi, Carol,

Why would they always receive 4 errors in the Batch Control file when running DIC and not have had them fixed?

Error 41##'S almost always refer to corrupt data.

I suspect that, if you were to create an Adagio snapshot, they would have an error(s) in their ADSError.log.

If you run Softrak\System\ChkSys.exe on their server and email the resulting snapshot, I'll take a look at this and other things in it for you. The snapshot does not gather any of their data just information about their Adagio environment.

Carol:

I'm with support. All bets are off if DIC isn't clean.

Sounds like something wrong with the batch control file that doesn't always allow it to be properly updated.

Do they run year end to set the batch number back to 1?

Hi,
Sorry if I was unclear -- of course they always do a repair after the D.i.C. gives them the errors. However, the data will corrupt again and they have to re-run D.I.C. - they get the same 4 errors again and then rebuild. Again.

So, the question -- why does it keep corrupting?

Ok -- I have the system snapshot. Who shall I email it to? Techsupport@softrak.com?

Versions were stated in the first post, above --
AP 9.2A 150609
Invoices 9.2A 150428
GL 9.2A 150903
AR 9.2a 150625

We have an upgrade scheduled for next week, not sure it'll make any difference, since these were working well for quite some time, until this started happening a few weeks back.

I've emailed the System Snapshot to techsupport@softrak.com. I referenced this thread in the email. Thanks,
