Hello Support,

Does Adagio IC support Item Quantity with 3 significant decimals (ie. 0.001) and if yes
how to configure IC ?

Thank you

Hi Vlad

You can turn on fractional quantities in Inventory Profile | System Options, but it will only support 2 significant digits (0.01).

There might be a way using alternate units of measure to fool Adagio into using more than 2 digits, but if there is I would guess it's a pretty unsatisfying workaround.

Make your stocking unit 1/10 the size of your selling units and all the pricing and costing will work properly with the amounts carried to 3 decimal digits.

I do not know why Steve would consider this an unsatisfying workaround.

No, Andrew. What you are describing is a way to get three decimal pricing and costing, not three decimal quantities.

I can't actually think of a workaround to get three decimal quantities. But there might be one.

Client is running inventory in square FT and square MT, there is conversion one from another and data collection from vendor SQM label with 3 decimal.
To avoid the loss of inventory and cost (due to rounding), 3 decimal is required in Adagio IC to post quantities from WMS to Adagio

Hi Steve,

You can display up to 6 decimals for the unit price and/or cost in the specification designer. Just edit the properties of the amount and adjust the number of decimal places. All the precision is carried properly.

Vlad: Make the stocking unit sq cm or sq mm to get the precision you want.

Hi Andrew

Making the stocking units sq cm or sq mm (when what you really want is sq meters) is what I meant by an unsatisfying workaround. Although the costing would have the correct precision, people would have to do mental gymnastics when looking at a screen or a report to figure out the natural quantity.

Andrew:

Steve has a valid concern, its an ugly workaround.
