I know how to make a Ledger account inactive and hide it from the account displays in Ledger.

But is there a way to suppress inactive accounts from appearing when coding transactions in subledgers (specifically Payables but I guess other modules as well)?

Thanks

Steve

Hi Steve:

When entering transactions in AP, you can hide the Inactive accounts in the [F5] Finder by using the Column Editor and choosing "Active records only". However I don't see a way to do that in the Smart Finder. And of course the Finder change must be made for each user for each AP Transaction entry screen.

Hi Steve,

Add Status to the SmartFinder Grid and start with the term "Status" "Is equal to" "A" to filter for active records only.

Hi Bruce

Thanks for the answer. I don't like it.

Andrew - I think there should be an option in Ledger Profile to hide the accounts in all finder views in all subledgers. Right now, user SYS has to visit every account grid in every module and select the option (and apply to all users), and this is terribly difficult. I'll bet there isn't a site in the world that needs to selectively hide accounts by user and/or by grid.

Hi Steve,

Bruce's answer is not completely accurate. There is only one F5 finder Grid for the GL accounts in any application. Once a user selects "Active records only" that's all they will be shown in all F5 presses for a GL account.

Ditto for the F6 Finder Grid.

I disagree that establishing this is very difficult, and in fact the function to set it across multiple users and companies exists in Adagio Console.

Hi Andrew

If you are right, then I change my response. It's not terribly difficult.

I still think it would be nice to be able to set the option in Ledger Profile, though. It would be a lot more intuitive.
