When we set up a new prospect in Sales CQ 8.1C(150226), on the quote tab, we can select an email cover to use by default for that prospect. If we set up a new customer in CQ, we can also select an email cover to use by default for that customer. However, in AR, the Quote tab is missing.

1. Is there a way to set a default email cover for quotes for all prospects as they are being set up?

2. Is there a way to set up a default email cover for quotes for all customers as they are being set up in AR?

3. I see that we can import an email cover for all prospects in CQ, but I don't see the option to import an email cover for a all customers in CQ. Since the quote tab is not in AR, then can I assume there is no way to populate the email cover for existing customers?

It seems that when you email a quote, if the email cover default for the customer is blank it will automatically use the email cover that was last used. We would like to have a default email cover that is always the cover used, except when when another cover is specifically selected.

Hi Susan,

1) Not at this time. There is no default email cover field in the SalesCQ company profile for the purpose of populating that field for new prospects. Probably because there isn't in OE either.

2) Not at this time. For the same reason as above, and also because Quote maintenance is self-contained in SalesCQ - other applications such as AR or OE will not reveal the Quotes tab when customers are edited.

3) Not that this time, apart from editing customers individually from within SalesCQ. This seems quite awkward, doesn't it?

I see that the email cover field is remembered between emailing quotes, probably because the User Preference option for 'Remember Form Settings' is enabled. If you disable this, then the email cover will not be remembered, if desired.

I think the biggest hurdle to overcome is how to update existing customers with Quote information en masse, rather than individually.

Just curious, but how many different quote email covers do you use? Only as a point of interest, not a problem.

Thanks for your reply. We only use 2 cover letters. One for regular quotes and one for special order items.
