I just tried to install the 9.2A service pack and although it appeared to install correctly, it never asked me for a password and when I went into the GL I did not get a warning message or file conversion as described in the upgrade notes.

What have I done wrong?

Odd that it didn't ask for a password. Service Packs rarely require any kind of database conversion.

Check Help | About to make sure that Ledger is running the release date expected.

Read the release notes for the service pack installed, not the version upgrade (which would require a conversion).

What is the file name that you installed?

Environment including operating systems?

Ledger Help/About says it's running 9.2A

When I look at the release notes attached to the service pack it appears to be a 9.2A Upgrade. I don't see any notes that specifically refer to a service pack.

The file name installed was ALSPP20150903

I am running Windows 8.1

Hi Donna,

Check to make sure that the Help | About version is 9.2A (150903). If it is then the Service Pack installed properly. There is no data conversion with the Service Pack.

You would have been asked for a password to unpack the download, but that would be it. Service packs just fix the current version that is installed, and will not install unless they detect the right version.

When you see the version number in Help | About there is a date code as well. It must match the service pack you installed 20150903, otherwise something is wrong.

If you open Help | Readme | Enhancements & Revisions you will see the release notes by release date. 20150903 doesn't say anything about being an upgrade, instead it just lists the things that have been fixed.

It says Adagio Ledger 9.2A (150119)

OK, then it didn't install correctly.

I'd re-download the Service Pack and repeat the process.

I watched carefully this time and saw a fleeting alert from Norton; disabled that and it appeared to install properly.
