We have been using Paymate for a number of years with Adagio and had no problems. When we did our last upgrade to 9.1A we stopped being able to import from paymate. We have spent a fair bit of time with the tech from Paymate and he has deduced that the problem is in the Adagio. The file exports without a problem. When we retrieve in the GL it comes back with the error messaage "File Access Denied" and then that freezes Adagio GL until we do a force close. Can anyone give us some guidance as to what to do. I currently have a number of payrolls waiting to be imported to Adagio.

Sammy:

File Access Denied is usually a windows security problem.

Are you importing or retrieving?
Can you edit the file from Clarity with Notepad or Wordpad?
Workstation O/s?
Server O/s?

If importing does the file layout match the import template?

Unfortunately Paymate is no longer an Adagio development partner so they are not likely staying current with changes to Adagio. It's likely going to be difficult to resolve this over the forum unless someone has seen this exact problem before (in which case you would think that Paymate has seen it before and would know how to resolve)

I export from Paymate and retrieve in Adagio. When the tech from Paymate was working with me on this problem he felt that probably the file that it is retrieved into was corrupt however I no longer can remember which file it is. I guess I better go back to paymate and get that information and then maybe this will make more sense to you. Thanks.

The Import Template you are using to import the file will specify the path and name. Check the file name in the template.

Also, you probably have to exit Paymate after doing the export to get it to release the file it has created before importing the records into Ledger.
