While billing using Adagio Order Entry V8.1F (2014.05.02) the program had to be restarted as a message (invalid pointer operation) came up on the screen as the staff member entered a customer number to begin a new invoice.

After entering the user name and password, a screen "Ezfile Directories" came up. Note this is not a new company. I entered the Currency path and the Eztasks path, but got an error message. I then deleted the file "ADSPROF.XXX" in the data folder, and tried entering the currency path and eztasks path again, but continued to get the error message.

I have been unable to start up any of our adagio programs and would appreciate some assistance with this problem.

Thanks in advance
Ruth

Ruth:

It would seem like the workstation is no longer talking to the server. Assuming that the hardware hasn't failed;

Use Windows Explorer to browse to x:\softrak\system (where X = drive Adagio installed on). Try creating and editing a text file with Notepad.

Is this a problem for all workstations or just one? Try rebooting the workstation. If that fails then try rebooting the server.

Try accessing the Adagio sample data.

You mentioned an error message: What is that message?

Hi Ruth

This forum is not meant to provide "urgent assistance". That's what your Adagio consultant is for.

In the meantime, try copying the ADSPROF.XXX file from a backup or from some other folder to your data directory and see if that fixes the problem. And I would immediately contact your Adagio consultant if it doesn't.

Steve
