Hi,

We changed our year end from Dec. 31 to Mar. 31 this past period. Back in December I created the new year for 2014, opened January, February and March for the stub period and closed the remainder of 2014. Last week I closed 2013 and created a new fiscal year for 2015 starting April 1st. I also did the year end procedure in Receivables, Payables and Invoices on March 31 and April 1. The problem is when I retrieve batches to Ledger for April they are going to Period 4 in 2014 instead of Period 1 in 2015.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Thanks,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Do you currently have a 'Current' and 'Next' year open, with overlapping fiscal periods across both years? Or have you closed the short year and only have a single 'Current' year starting April 1 2014?

The sub-ledger retrieval process should only be assigning the fiscal year and period based on Current or Next fiscal years, not Historical years - if retrieval is set to assign the period based on the date. If indeed the former scenario is true that you have two fiscal years active with overlapping periods (even if periods are closed), then I suspect that sub-ledger retrieval will assign the first year/period it sees. There is no option in the program to choose which year to create a batch if periods overlap.

In this case, the solution would be to Move the retrieved batches from the Current Year to the Next Year batch system - changing the fiscal period as appropriate - until such time that you close your short current fiscal year.

If you only have one Current Fiscal Year open, then this is indeed strange and not expected behavior, and you would need to get your Adagio consultant involved to assist in investigating the problem.
