Strangely, I attempted to print from the Ledger 9.1A (130726) and all of a sudden I am getting this error. Printer engine not found. I have been printing up until two days ago when this issue came up. Our IT technician says all is ok with the printers and any user can log into any other modules and print and preview however as long as they log into the GL and attempt to print or preview then the message comes up.

I even tried using the Adagio PDF but the message still comes up. Can someone please help with this.

Hi GT,

What changed between the last day that Ledger reports printed successfully? An upgrade install, server changes, anything else?
If the ChkSys.exe utility is run from that workstation, does it find anything?
Do other workstations have the same problem?
Is a Terminal Server in use?

Adagio Ledger uses the 8.5 version of the Crystal Reports print engine. A few other programs such as BankRec and JobCost also use the 8.5 version, but most others use the 7.0 version of the print engine. If your client uses the current version of BankRec, attempting to preview a report from there would be a good indicator of whether this Crystal Print Engine version is the issue.
The resolution may be to re-run the workstation setup.

Thanks I will try the re-run of workstation setup.

All other workstations have the same issue but only when they are attempting to view or print a report from the ledger all other modules work fine.

Is there another way to test the Crystal Print Engine as the client does not have Bank Rec or Job Cost.

No changes occurred prior to the error and the chksys.exe returned no errors.

I re-did the workstation setup with no luck.

You haven't answered the following questions:

What changed between the last day that Ledger reports printed successfully? An upgrade install, server changes, anything else?

- For example, what version of GL were they running prior to the upgrade? GL9.0A, 9.0B, 9.0C, 9.0D? Any other changes?

Do other workstations have the same problem?

- You say you redid the workstation setup. Should we assume the problem occurs on a single w/s only or on all w/s's?

Is a Terminal Server (Remote Desktop) in use?

- Is it? Or, is this a standalone w/s? Or, is the workstation connected to the server via a LAN?

1. There were no changes prior to the error showing up.

2. The version is the same before the error appeared 9.1A.

3. All other workstations is having the issue.

4. No terminal server in use.

5. All workstations connected to the server via LAN.

Description of the incident just received.

On Friday midday the first issue was reported, when users attempted to open the ledger it said a file at the path M:\softrack\ledger cannot be access. The IT Technician thought that maybe a file or files were corrupted. So he did a restore of the ledger folder from the previous night’s backup. After the restore the Ledger module opened and seemed to be running fine until a user tries to preview or print a report.

I advised a complete uninstall and reinstallation of the GL and now all works fine.
