I was in the midst of doing my back-up when all my data files disappeared. This is my error but since nothing appears in a trash file I suspect that they got moved to another directory. If an invoice or quote was entered during the day, what file(s) would have changed? I figured that searching the directories for one of these files is the quickest way of finding them.

Search for OE*.dat or IC*.dat or AR*.dat or AC*.dat.

Or, search for ??GLOB.*

That will show all the "Global" files that exist for each set of Adagio data.

If you you have trouble with this in Windows, open a CMD window and type the following:

X: where X is your data drive.

CD \ to get to the root directory.

dir ??glob.* /s the "/s" means search all subdirectories (folders).

I did a full search in all directories on all network paths and could find nothing. I was interrupted while doing the backup so I was hoping I had inadvertently clicked on the wrong directory. No luck. I had to assume I deleted everything and do a restore. Luckily I picked a good day to mess up; only about half a dozen invoices and a few quotes had to be re-entered.
