What are the implications of making a client number in Time & Billing inactive. Does it just not allow users to add time to the client, take the number off the reports and not allow any billing to be done to the client or are there other things that should be considered when making a client inactive.

Thank you for your help.

Hi Marshal,

In general when a record (client, docket, vendor, account, item, etc) is made Inactive in Adagio, this will prevent posting transactions for the record. It is also possible to exclude these records from reports and hide this records from Edit and Finder grids. In the case of Time&Billing and inactive clients, you touched on 3 of these 4 things - the only other is that by using the Column Editor you can choose to 'show active only' and hide inactive clients.

Making a client (or other record) inactive is meant to remove the record out of circulation and make grids and reports cleaner - without having to delete the client. It is far easier to re-activate a client as compared to re-entering a deleted client (especially since history would be purged when a client is deleted).

Was there something about inactive clients that you ran into and had a particular question?
