I recently upgraded Sales Analyis from 8.1B to 9.0A and now the excel option has disappeared. So I upgraded to 9.0B hoping that would fix the issue, but I still don't have the excel option and it won't export properly to Excel either. What has changed?

Check your user ID settings, I think the option to enable/disable the export was added in the newer versions and turned off by default. Tick the box that says "Enable SF Export" and you'll see the option re-appear once you log out/in to make the change take effect.
