We have a client that uses Datacare and they have several entities. Noticed recently that one of the entities do not have invoice files included in backup. The other entity was checked and invoice files were there. We deleted Datacare files for that company and created new Datacare files, but still invoice files were not included. Please, advice.

When you say 'invoice files', do you mean Adagio Invoices and all the data files that start with 'QI', or do you mean an application like AR and just the files related to invoice batches?

If Adagio Invoices, look at the DataCare settings to ensire that the 'include in backup' option is defined for Invoices and all other desired application data for the backup. This is on the DataCare 'Job' and can be enabled or disabled for each program.

If a sub-set of a different program, could the files be locked on the server?

DataCare doesn't determine anything special about data files as part of the backup. If application data is selected for backup, it will grab everything (ie AR*.dat or QI*.dat).

It is all the data files that start with QI. We looked for jobs under Datacare and the Invoice application is not listed as are AP, AR, BR and GL. When I tried to do new one to test, it did not automatically include Invoices application as it did with other companies. How do I get Invoices application "in". Thanks!

Edit the Job and turn on "Backup" for the Invoices data. Edit the Company Profile and on the Backup tab enable Backup Data.

Company Profile has backup data option enabled. In jobs cannot turn on "Backup" for Invoices data, the module is not listed. How would I get Invoices listed?

If DataCare is not listing Invoices in the list of modules to check, then it either doesn't think that invoices is installed, or doesn't think there is any data for it to check.

To test the former, make a copy of the Invoices sample data \Softrak\Invoices\Samdata\*.sam in another Folder, and point DataCare at the Folder. Invoices should appear in the list of applications to check.

To test the latter, look for files QI*.SAM in the Folder that DataCare is pointing at.

Finally, check the \softrak\DataCare\dicdlls Folder and look for DCE@I90B.DLL. I believe that is the DLL responsible for the Application Integrity Phase Invoices 9.0B.

It was an oversight. Once we upgraded DataCare to latest and greatest, the invoice module was listed. Your point about DLL file clued us in.
