I created a Gridview using 9.0F (120925).

I highlighted every row then adjusted the row height and then went into Format Cells/Align and selected Horizontal Center and Vertical Center Apply is greyed out, but I can click OK and everything looks good. I save the .gv and the workspace.

When I refresh or close and reopen, I lose all the formatting. What am I doing wrong? I need to save this formatting.

You must click in the top left ( in the title row ) to select the complete sheet or use some other method of selecting the cells?

I just selected all the rows...

Now I just tried clicking the top left to select the whole sheet, but the results are the same. The formatting is only temporary. When I refresh or reopen, I lose the formatting.

Actually, it is saving the row height now, using the page selection as you explained. But, I'm still losing the centre justification when I summarize.

Hi Susan,

Try highlighting the column, then right-click and choose Add Formatting. I've found that this way of editing the formatting sticks better.

There was a problem in a previous version that was supposed to to have been addressed in the release you quoted:

- Format / Cells changes were lost when the view was refreshed or saved in GridView 9.0E.

Oh, and only column formatting can be saved. Attempting to set formatting on rows such as fonts will always be lost as row contents are always regenerated.

Not a big deal, but centre justification doesn't work for columns that have totals displayed when summarized. I can live with this.

OK, I see the summarized rows have the right-formatting even though the details have center formatting. The subtotal rows tend to be less controllable for formatting than the details.

Under Format | Styles... choose the Style "Number Total" and change the horizontal alignment to "Center".
