I need some help setting up the e-mail options using the direct method. The MAPI setting seems to be working.
On the advise of our support consultant we have done the following with no sucess:
. Updated Microsoft Office to a 64 bit program We are using Microsoft Outlook.
. I have verified the settings(including ports) with our IP(MTS).

No matter what I do an error message is returned. My support consultant(uses the same IP) has tried the direct system on their system and tells me that everything works fine.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Direct does not use Microsoft Office but talks to your SMTP provider directly.

What error message is returned?

Error returned not very informative:

"There was an error during the e-mail test procedure"

Have your consultant send you a screen shot of the e-mail setup that is working for them.

Thier setup is not much different than what I have tried.
MTS uses windowslive.com. Can this be an issue?
Could the problem be in the control panel e-mail settings?

"Not much different" is not identical. Make yours identical.

I don't understand your reference to "MTS uses windowslive.com". You need to know the name (and perhaps sign on ID) for your SMTP server. Sometimes it's something like "mail.shaw.ca" or "smtp.rogers.com". Your ISP can give you that name.

The problem is external to Adagio, but where specifically is beyond the scope of the Forum to assist, I expect.
