“I am a small business working on a single server. Adagio ODBC does not show up as a DSN on our Server 2008R2. When I open Adagio ODBC 9 from the Adagio icon the DSN exists. When I open Administrative Tools> Data Sources (ODBC) the data source does not exist. I know this is a permissions error related to the Domain but I can’t find the permission that will allow it to work. Has anyone else ran into the problem on a 2008R2 server that is the only server and has to function as a domain controller?" Thanks for any help...

Your Server 2008R2 is a x64 Machine and Adagio ODBC is x32 so you need to create a shorcut to the 32 bit Odbcad32.exe file.

Hello:
Michael's answer is correct for all 64-bit computers. A 64-bit operating system has 2 ODBC managers, one for 64-bit and one for 32-bit ODBC drivers. They look the same. The 64-bit manager is available through the Windows Control Panel. The 32-bit manager is \Windows\SYSWOW64\odbcad32.exe.

Is your server 32-bit or 64-bit? When you say "older server", are you referring to the server you described at the top of this thread or a different one?

Thank you both for your answers, i will pass along the information again to our computer person.
We hav 2 servers, the older one we originally put the ODBC link on and is running windows 2003; we were having problems with the older server and wanted to upgrade to our new server, which is running the windows 2008. Since the transition, he has been having trouble with the ODBC link working (to the best of my knowledge this is his issue). Im not sure on the 32 bit vs the 64 bit but will ask him. Thanks again for all your help and information.
