I went to receive an item on a PO and on the final post received an error "Item xxxxxxxx does not exist". Tried receiving two more items on the same PO and everything was fine. Then tried the fourth item and received the same error message. I noticed that both items that generated errors contained an underscore in the part number. Is this a problem and what can I do?

Are you using Adagio IC as well?

And if so, are you certain that the exact Item # exists in Inventory? (Sorry - an obvious question, but nonetheless, we should verify this.)

Thank you for reporting this. It seems there is a problem with PO receipting an IC item that contains an underscore character in its code. The order seems to behave and post without problem. However, the receipt changes the underscore into a blank space which does cause problems. For one, the receipt cannot be posted. Within IC I found that orphans were created for the blank space item in the locations file, as this item doesn't really exist in IC. DIC removes the orphans.

I'll report the problem to R&D. As you know, we are currently rewriting Purchase Orders to use the same tools and be a better fit within the overall Adagio suite of products. As such, we will not be making any further changes or fixes to PO8.1B.

The solution right now would be not to create items having an underscore in their code.
