We sometimes have GST and HST on the same invoice to bill and can't seem to do both taxes as the customer set up overrides the individual tax for each item.

For example Jet fuel only has Gst included for BC and we will have hours of work that have HST on the same invoice. It is not currently possible to include both taxes on the same invoice?

What application are you using to do the invoicing? The answer differs depending on whether the invoice is entered directly into AR, or if you use a different application such as OrderEntry or Invoices.

Yes, it is possible to charge different tax on the same invoice, depending on how you have set up the tax table, because each item / distribution tracks the amount of tax based on Item Tax Status in conjunction with Customer Tax Status.

Very generally for OE or IN, the Tax Table would need to have both GST and HST jurisdictions defined, and the Item Tax status would charge one tax or the other. Look at Sample Data for some ideas.

It's too much to describe how to set up tax tables on a discussion forum. To get what you specifically require, it's best to discuss with your Adagio consultant.

I have changed the item code for the various taxes in Adagio Invoicing and the GST shows on the invoice as well as the HST, but unfortunately the customer set up overrides the item and the rates do not calculate or show properly.

We have the tax tables set up for the various jurisdictions, the problem is with the calculations being done by Adagio Invoices. If you have 2 items with GST only and 2 items with HST, only the HST will calculate and show on the invoice (if the customer/header section of the invoice is set as HST) vice versa if you change the invoice header to be GST.

Lynn:

The tax setup you require can be done but it will take some work to sort out your tax table setup which is not possible through this forum. Please give us a call if you would like some assistance.

Hello Lynn,

You can absolutely get the calculations you want using Adagio's tax tables and jurisdictions. Unfortunately, it's next to impossible to tell you the specifics of how to set this up for your circumstance over the forum. There's too many variables, including the taxation rules for your particular business/area. This is one time that your Adagio consultant, who is familiar both with the tax rules for your specific organization and how taxes are set up in Adagio and printed on the forms is in the best position to assist.
