Hi,

I need to create a spreadsheet that lists all the Inventory items in a range with Jan - current (i.e. YTD) sales, current Qty on Hand, Qty on Sales Order, and Qty on PO. Modules currently installed include current versions of Inventory, Sales Anal. OE, and PO.

What is the best way to do this? (ie. Gridview??)

I can print a sales report from SA to Excel, but the item number and item desc data are merged into one column which is no good.

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Edw

This is a lot easier than you think, assuming you have done Year-end processing in IC at the right time and that you don't care about individual locations.

Use the SmartFinder (F6) function within Inventory itself. You can select all of the fields above to appear on the grid, and then export to Excel using the ExcelDirect button.

Thanks Steve, I should clarify that that the YTD sales we need is a quantity figure not a dollar figure. Is this still possible the way you describe?

Yes, sales qtantities are stored in the Inventory master. Steve's other observation is more important - when are you running your period ends in Inventory?

If the period ends aren't what you need then you may need to add up some of the sales buckets in he Inventory file. If this isn't good enough for your purposes, then you'll want to generate the sales figures from SalesAnalysis using GridView and then use the GETLINKEDVALUE() function to pick up the other Qty fields from another view looking just at Inventory. This is a little more complicated and you may need some assistance to structure that workspace.
