Hi Forum!

I'm having an issue with my Order Designer. I just upgraded the OE module to the latest and also applied the newest Service Pack. Now, when I go to Maintain a Specification, the Order Designer gives me the following errors upon attempting to open one of our existing specs:

"Printer selected is not valid"

"Access violation at address 00590959 in module "OEWDESGN.EXE'. Read of address 00000316"

"Class TWWIQuickReport not found"

These errors come up when trying to open an existing spec, create a new spec or open a template. They are three separate error windows and they come one after the other as you click "OK".

The permissions on the network drive did not change. Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATED: It seems that ODBC is not connecting either. It keeps giving me a "File none, Line 586" error. I'm not sure if this is related but it kinda seems to be.

thanks
Lucas

Luca:

You mentioned that the permissions on the network drive did not change. Did you change workstations? Which operating system is your workstation and server using?

Hi Doug,

Server is 2008 R2
Workstations are Windows 7

Operating Systems have not changed prior to and post upgrade. When I run the System Status program and check all R/W folders it completes without error.

I suspect that the ODBC error is separate. I upgraded a client to recent versions and their ODBC ceased to work (different message though). The solution was to replace the \Softrak\System\ADS32.dll file with an older version. What is the date of that file on your system?

Hi Bruce,

The ADS32.dll file is from 7/21/2011. I upgraded on Saturday (9/3/2011). Where would I go about getting an older version of the file?

Adagio's installation process saves the previous files as a precaution. Look in \Softrak\OEWIN\Backup\YYYYMMDD where YYYMMDD should be 20110903 in your case.
  • Get everyone out of Adagio
  • Go to \Softrak\OEWIN\Backup\20110903
  • Copy ADS32.dll (confirm that it is an older version)
  • Go to \Softrak\System
  • Rename the existing ADS32.dll to ADS32.new
  • Paste the older one
  • Test your ODBC connection
  • If the problem remains, reverse this process
Note that ADS32.dll is a critical file for Adagio. If you are uncomfortable with these steps or the process of reversing them (if necessary), ask for support from your Adagio consultant.

Thanks for all the help so far...I have some updates:

The Order Designer error was something to do with my specific workstation and my default printer. No idea what it is but if I select another default printer I can now edit specifications. I'll leave that one alone for now as I'm fine with my workaround.

the ODBC one is a bit more troublesome. I found two older versions of ADS32.DLL. When I tried replacing the file with each of them the same set of problems occurred:

1.) ODBC will not give the error, but it prompts me for a U/P which I cannot give a correct answer to. It then cancels the operation
2.) No other module is able to access Lanpak. It says Invalid sign in or something similar.

Any other ideas?

I think I'm going to post this is a new thread due to the misleading title.
