I believe I am having a problem with OE after upgrading to version OE V8.1D (110316).

It appears it's creating Duplicate invoices one after another
in which the customer is being charged twice for the goods. The interesting thing is when you query the order it states 1 less invoice billed then actually is charged to the account and the order does not show the qty being doubled on the order.

Is Anyone else experience this problem? Is there a fix in the works?

I am going to reinstall and see if that makes a difference tonight on the computer that does all the invoices.

Hi Treasure,

Does the data pass the integrity check? You caanot have duplicate customer / invoice numbers in Adagio OrderEntry. Were the duplicates sent to Receivables (which would have complained and refused to post the duplicate invoice numbers). Is there a pattern? Did it happen to all orders? all customers? Orders shipped on a specific day?

Hi Andrew

I run Datacare every night (I have the recent version) and I have no integrity errors. However I haven't run Data integrity check on OE, I will try later. What has happened is OE created one invoice Number after another, Ie: inv# 12345, 12346. Yes, both went to AR, double the amount gets billed to the customer. However, like I said the when you query the order itself the item does not show double the amount was put through and states only 1 invoice (header page) on the order was created. When you search the invoices for that order two invoices will show up as billed against that order. This is the 2nd times I have noticed this senario and I don't know why it has happened either time. I can't see a pattern as of yet. No, I have only noticed this one other time on another order and it was about 10 days ago.

Do both invoices reference the same order number? What is the process used for generating an invoice from an order? You can see who created the invoice and when. What information is in these fields? (You'll have to edit your Grid columns to display these fields, or use GridView.)

Hi
Yes, both orders have same order no.
We use direct printing, so periodically during the
day all the Packing slips orders picked up are processed and billed.

both invoices were created by the same person, the person who does
all the invoicing. To my surprise however, the time on the first invoice is 14.42,
the time on the 2nd invoice is 14.51. I have no Idea how the 2nd invoices posted 9 min later and neither does the person who was doing the invoicing.

This person is using Windows 7, not sure if that's a factor or not.

I've run Data integrity on OE and it's all ok.

Order Entry Invoice duplication was a classic problem in ACCPAC Plus if any of the workstations or server had Opportunistic Locking Enabled. Historically you had to disable OpLocks or this type of error would occur, typically with data corruption as well. DataCare, if setup correctly, should detect any OE database problem.

By default new workstations and servers come with OpLocks enabled and historically disabling OpLocks was a must. It's possible that at this time you have a mix of some Enabled and some Disabled, which could result in this issue. Definitely a mix of some enabled and some disabled is going to create some kind of problem.

None of my other clients are experiencing this issue and no one else has reported it on this forum so its safe to say that this has something to do with you hardware/network environment. Let me know if you would like us to assist you with tracking this down.

My guess is that there is a procedural issue that will turn up when the situation is monitored closely. We have had no similar reports from the field, and won't be able to do much until the problem is repeatable.

I've check all the new computers and OPP Locs is off. However, I'll will check the rest when I have time just in case that's an issue. The only possible issue I get when I run Chksys is The following:

Multi-User Common folders ("EZTASKS") were found:
[Note: the common names are listed on the left; the crucial unique names are in parentheses]
d:\softrak\system (\\svr1\ddrive\softrak\system)
d:\asp (\\svr1\ddrive\asp)
WARNING: Generally only 1 such folder should exist, but (2) unique names were found!!
This may cause multi-user data corruption problems if programs use different
folders while concurrently accessing common data!!
Please check with your system administrator to ensure proper configuration.

(The 2nd folder is the old accpac folder.)

If that is something that needs to be fixed let me know.
Let me monitor this a little closer Doug first.

Thanks Doug

Andrew it is quite possible that this situation is related to the user or the computer since it is new. I will try to keep a closer look at this problem to figure out what going on here. I appreciate your time and if I find out anything you can help me with I'll let you know.
Thanks
