I installed Inventory Upgrade 8.1C and converted our data and the first thing I noticed is that when we go into DataCare 8.1A and click on any button (i.e. History, Check, etc.) then close DataCare, we get this error:

dcwin.exe Application Error

The instruction at "0x0047ae36" referenced memory at "0x00cd267c". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program.

This is happening on all of our Windows XP workstations.

If we open DataCare and do not click any button, we can close the program successfully.

Hi, Susan,

We've been unable to duplicate this error and believe it may have something to do with your local environment rather than being an Adagio program problem.

It doesn't seem to cause any issue other than being a nuisance. I did all my Windows updates and still the same error.

Interesting: We are now getting the exact same error in our office. Did this ever get resolved?

Susan's copy of DataCare was installed on a local machine. We expect it was not being properly updated when new versions were being installed.

I'm not sure what you mean about my DataCare being installed on a local machine. DataCare is installed with both the program and the data on the server, the same as every other Adagio module. It was working fine until we installed the IC 8.1C Upgrade. We have not resolved this issue. The error occurs from all XP Workstations, but not if you run the program locally from the SBS 2003 server. Please let me know if you figure out a fix.

Though we only just noticed as our DataCare is run unattended overnight I think this strated after the IC v8.1C upgrade as well.

Looks like a client that we upgraded on Friday now has the same problem.

Hi, Doug,

I understand that doing a clean reinstall of DataCare (i.e. removed all traces of DataCare and then reinstalled) cleared this problem up for you.

Thank you for getting back to us regarding this.

I did try re-installing previously without success, but a "clean" re-install did the trick. Thanks.
