Before we upgraded to Receivables 90B, we did not have this issue…

When closing a customer’s profile, the grid is returned to some random “nearby” customer instead of staying on the customer I just viewed. I would like to return where I left off. I shouldn't have to keep finding my end point. It's like being interrupted in the middle of a process and having to figure out where you were...over and over again.

We have had a couple of reports about this but it is not always duplicatable. I have seen the problem occur with larger customer databases where the resulting highlight was sometimes 1 or 2 or 3 rows away from the customer being edited. The way Grids work for customers changed in version 9.0B to accommodate Filters.

When editing a customer, how do you locate them? Do you use the Find button, or the scroll bar at the right of the grid, or the scroll-wheel on the mouse, or Page Up/Down keys on the keyboard, or another way? That could be important in attempting to track this down, since it doesn't always happen for us.

How many customers display at one time on the grid? Have you re-sized your Edit Customers screen to show more customers than the default window size?

How are the customers sorted on the grid? By customer number, name or phone?

Is a Filter selected at the top of the screen? Is the grid sorted by something on the Filter?

In the \softrak\system directory, what is the file date of the ADS32.DLL program file?

We have a client experiencing this problem since upgrading to AR9.0B. The highlighted customer seems to jump by 2 or 3 (up or down) after viewing/editing a customer account.

Answers to your questions:
  • They primarily use the Find button. It doesn't seem to matter whether the finder is set to Highlight, View or Edit. All three produce same problem
  • They have resized the customer grid. One workstation displays 27 customers at a time, one displays 26 and one displays 22. All three have the problem.
  • List is sorted by customer number
  • No filter is active
  • ADS32 file date is 10/6/2010, version is 1.12.54.2689

The word from the programmers is that this is a known issue when editing a customer that is not in the first 250 or the last 250 records, in this case customers. The size of the jump depends on the total number of customers and what record was edited.

This should be fixed in the next release or service pack. We have already done a similar fix for editing items in Inventory.
