I have a template set up in AR to export Customer Notes. We are using 9.0A. The template includes the following fields: Customer/User/Date/Time/Line Number/Note Detail. I can then choose to filter it by Customer (picked our first customer to or last, chosen from the drop down list) default for the User, and chose dates for the period I'd like to see displayed. Click Export, and it seems to work, but when I open the file, it only has exported the customers up to the ones beginning with the letter J. I've tried this a few different ways, (tried leaving the defaults in for all fields) but the result is always the same. Only customers up to "J" get exported. Is there something else I can try? I'd really like to be able to export the notes from a one week period, based on which salesperson entered them. If the "Export Notes" is flawed, is there another way to access this?

Thanks very much.

Hi Barb,

What format are you exporting to? Excel? CSV? And how many notes are you exporting?
It may be that you are exporting to Excel and are exporting so many notes that you are hitting the maximum number of records in a file that Excel supports.

Try CSV or another format other than Excel to see if a maximum limit is the case.

Adagio Receivables 9.0B supports import/export to Excel 2007 (and XLSX files) which have a greater maximum number of records. If you use Excel 2007 or 2010 and the problem is hitting the maximum, you could use version 9.0B to export to an XLSX Excel file and get them all.

The only other thing I can suggest is looking to see if customers have 'Additional Notes' (at the top of the Notes screen within Edit Customer) in addition to those with Dates and Users. There was a problem fixed where Export Customer Notes would stop at the first customer that had Additional Comments. Specifically look at the 'J' customers where the export seems to be halting.

We aren't aware of any flaws with exporting customer notes in the most recent service pack of Receivables 9.0A nor the current version of AR 9.0B.

Ah, I see. Yes, after much clicking through customers, it is the "additional notes" that are a problem. When I get to a customer who has both an additional note, and a user note (within the time frame I am after) the whole process stops. Besides taking off each "additonal note" is there any way to get round this? (You don't consider this a flaw?)

Thanks very much, you guys are great!!

This scenario works in the latest shipping version of Adagio Receivables 9.0A (dated May 2010) and also Adagio Receivables version 9.0B. All dated customer notes can be exported, even for customers with an 'Additional comment'. It is not a flaw anymore. The solution is to install the current service pack or upgrade.
