We have been experiencing problems with Financial Report Designer in Ledger 9.0C (100511). When editing or creating a statement we are getting the following errors.
In XP we are getting a runtime error in LEDGERFINREP.EXE
In Windows 7 the error is Financial Reporter stopped working and had to close.

Do you get the same problems on a different data set, such as sample data? Or a different spec file? Sometimes these errors occur due to corruption in a data file or a spec file.

If you can replicate the problem in a different data set or file, could you indicate what process you are doing at the time of the error? This can help point to whether a file needs to be deleted and recreated, or other things.

Also, what is the file version of LedgerFinRep.EXE and also the \softrak\system\ads32.dll system file?

I did not get the same problems in a different data set. I do get the same problems no matter which financial statement I try to edit in this one particular data set. The DIC comes up clean.

Hi, Lyndon,

It would be useful for us to know the version of the Financial Reporter you are using. You can get this information by selecting Help | About when you have the Financial Reporter open. As well, on this same About screen, if you would tell us the 'Database version'.

One thing you can try is, when no one is in the program, drill down and open the folder this data is stored in. Locate the GLATREE.xxx file (where 'xxx' is the 3-character data extension). Right click on the file and select to Rename it (perhaps to something like oldGLATREE.xxx).

Then, reopen Ledger and the Financial Reporter. The file should be automatically recreated. Do you experience the same problems? If so, would you zip this dataset up (GL only) and email it to us?

version number is 2.1.1.1695
renaming the GLATREE.xxx did the trick. No errors any more.
Thanks
