We have run an A/R Customer Transactions Report for all customers for a date range from 1980 to today (basically all dates) for all transaction types and have set the flag to include zero balance customers. The report returns no data. We have run this report in the past without any problems and we definitely have customer transactions in every month. I am not sure when this report was last run (it's run at least monthly and often more frequently than that) but this is the first time we've had a problem with it. We recently downloaded a trial of Adagio ODBC but I don't think we accessed any live data with it, just sample data. Any ideas why this report is not returning any data and how I can fix it?

Try running the report with a smaller date range like Jan 1/10 to today. Let us know if this worked.

I tried a smaller date range, a single customer, a group of customers, all transaction types, debit/credit notes only, etc. Every combination I've tried returns no data.

Hi,

You should also check to ensure that data integrity is clean. If not, make sure you have made a backup, then rerun DIC and hit Rebuild. If it comes back saying it has fixed the errors, run DIC again until it comes back clean. Test after, to ensure the problem has been resolved.

As well, when you run the report, remove the Customer Name as one of the Sort by criteria and see if you receive results then.

Can you tell us exactly which version(release date) of AR you are using? Selecting Help | About from the main menu will give you this information.

Ahhhh, so stupid! When we open the Customer Transactions Report, the Customer Number field defaults to Starting - blank and Ending - zzzzzz. The Customer Name field defaults to Starting - blank and Ending - blank. We didn't change the Ending to be zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz so of course we didn't get any results because we don't have any customers with a blank customer name. If I run it now with the Ending field filled with "z"s, we get results. I believe the Customer Name Ending field used to default to "z"s??

Argh, sorry for the hassle!

To answer your question about version, we are on AR 8.1A. We know we have to do a major implementation to move to AR 9.0 but haven't yet got a plan in place for doing so.

Ack, the Ending field does default to "zzzzzzzzz" but we have our options set to remember report settings. Of course the people that were playing with it cleared the Start and End fields so when I opened it up they were blank, making it look like that was the default. If I get out of the system and go back in, the zzzzzzz are there in the Ending field. So all is good. Sorry for turning something so simple into a big deal.
