Hello there,

We are running OE 8.1C(090731) and need to create an invoice spec that shows item prices with tax included. I don't see a field option for that.

The reason we need to do this is because the company resides in Ontario and needs to produce an invoice for supply and install. In that case the PST is calculated on the cost of the item and they do not want to show the PST because the contractor they bill would be able to calculate their cost.

We have set up a Juisdiction that will calculate on cost and we can choose a specification code that prints the line extension including tax, but I don't see one for the unit price including tax.

Any ideas?

Mike

Spec code D48 takes the extended price of the item, subtracts any applicable discount, and adds the tax. Will this work for your situation?

Adagio OE has an 'all specification codes' document that you could choose to preview against a live order or invoice or credit note to determine which spec code prints the amount or information you are looking for. The spec title will be something like 'OE ALL codes to July 2009' or some similar date.

Hi,

Yes I am using that code, which is the extension after multiplying the no of units times the base price. I am looking for the unit price after discounts and tax.

I will check that document you mentioned.

Thanks for the tip.

I don't believe there is a specification code that takes the unit price and applies tax. This information is not stored in the order detail database. Because this value is not stored, we'd have to determine how viable it is to create a new field code that can calculate this on the fly. It may or may not be possible.

Thanks for the response,

Do you know what others are doing to show tax included amounts. I can see that we can show the extension is tax in, but I can't think of how to make the invoice sensible if the unit price is tax out. I suppose your column heading could show the unit price as a tax out price and the extension as tax included. What do you think?

I don't believe there is a way of doing a calculated field in the spec?

Mike
