Starting POA 8.1A (090409).
Splash screen appears, then goes away, but program does not come up.
Look in Task Manager, not on application list, but IR.EXE is shown on the process list.
Delete IR.EXE from process list and try again, fails several more times before starting normally.
Ideas?

Hi Tony

What operating system - Vista, XP? I have had intermittent problems along these lines and ended up returning to the prior version for one particular client - never could figure it out. I plan on trying again soon so the more information I have the better.

XP Pro.
Don't suppose you could give some pointers as to what else to look for...I hate when these things jump up and bite me.

Is the program registered? We had an instance where an unregistered program caused a similar scenario when logging in after the expiry date, but could not duplicate this reliably.

I had the same kind of problem with Terminal Server. It had to do with the files dates.

Hi Patricia

Can you explain more? The client this problem occurred on is using Terminal Server. What did you do to resolve it?

When you use TS, the dates of the programs and files are changes to today's date. You need to run a program SOFTRAK has to update restore the dates Date Fixer Utility. The program needs to up to date with all the new releases.

We've had this exact problem at 3 separate clients and were unable to isolate the cause (none of these 3 were TS sites).

Contact your dealer to get the 20090619 Hot Fix installed. Installing this resolved the problem at each site.
