Two questions about Item Number Changing:

1) We currently have IC Item Number Change which was put out by AIM. I know it is no longer supported, but we are still using it. Also, it is important to note that we are still using IC 8.1A, OE 8.1B, and PO 8.0. The program is working fine, except it gives us errors whenever we try and change a part number that contains an apostrophe (').

The specific error is "an unhandled exception has occurred in a component in your application. Click continue and application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. Syntax error: Missing operand after '9' operator."

Whatever digit is after the ' in the part number is what shows up in the error message (the 9 in this case). The ' in the part number is obviously screwing up the program. Any ideas? We have about 20 item number changes left after merging two companies (so everything is in the same format), and really want to get these cleaned up.

2) Are there any item number changers that work and are supported and work with IC, OE, and POs (our versions and new versions, which we will be on soon)?

I can answer your second question. You should check out the Toolkit for Adagio by Dakota Software. It's a collection of number changers and assorted utilities for Adagio. Yes

As for the first question, which is "Any ideas?" - the answer is to bite the bullet and buy Toolkit for Adagio even though it means admitting that you will have bought the same utility twice. Toolkit for Adagio is so amazingly good in comparison to AIM's product that it is no wonder AIM stopped supporting it. I can go on and on about why it is so good, but take my word for it (if you really want to know, post here and I will explain).
