I want to print and clear the posting journal in order to close the previous year, but after printing I have no warning giving me the option of clearing the posting, how do I get That?

When you print the posting journal, you need to use the Print button (not the Preview button followed by the printer icon). You can choose to print to a printer or change the Destination on the bottom of the print window to File and print to a file. After, you will receive a prompt asking if you want to clear/purge the posting journals. Say 'yes'.

I would like to take this opportunity to suggest to Softrak that in a future release it not be required to clear/purge prior year posting journals in order to perform year-end. Now that you preserve details for prior years, the least you can do is to allow us to re-print prior year posting journals without having to launch a backup of the data.

Sorry, we disagree. The posting journals should be printed and purged at the end of the year. We would recommend they be printed to a PDF file and that be stored with a backup of the data on a CD.

Here we go again!!!when closing the fiscal year I have warning to print and clear prior posting journal , but apparently I have none, what should I do?

Did you print the posting journals using the Print button and not using Preview? And, did you clear the journals?

If you are using GL9.0A, go the the Print Posting Journal window again and make sure you position the radio dot next to the Prior Year (eg. 2008) and then print that journal and clear it.

If you are using GL9.0A and you do not have a Prior Year even displaying on the Print Posting Journal window, go to your Company Profile and turn on (check) the 'Enable prior year posting' option on the Options tab. Then, go back to the Print Posting Journal window and position the radio dot beside your Prior Year and Print and clear the journal.

Yes I did print and clear the posting journals, and the only step I have to do now in order to proceced to close the year is to print and clear Prior year posting journal, but that function is in gray, in other words I can not do it even when is selected in the options enable prior year posting

Yes, the 'to Prior Year' option on the Post menu is greyed out because you have (correctly) already created your Next Year.

However, that's not the function you want. You want to select Post | Print Posting Journals | Print Posting Journal. That will bring up the Print Posting Journal window whereon you will click to place the radio dot beside the prior fiscal year.
