Hi,

We've run into a limitation on printing a batch to file that I'm trying to find a solution to. Currently, after we import the A/R module into Adagio at month end, we print the batch to file only to avoid killing another tree for redundant information. Our A/R activity, however, exceeds the maximum export to excel which appears to be 16,381 lines. Is there any way to increase this maximum in Adagio? If not, can anyone suggest another work around? Currently, if there are errors on the import, I have to print to screen and scroll through hundreds of pages to identify them...

Hi Holiday,

Could you print to a different file type, such as Word or HTML? Both of these methods don't have maximum sizes, as Excel does with the number of rows.

Or you could direct the output to a different 'printer'. Such as one that generates PDF files rather than paper output. Or the 'Microsoft XPS Document writer' that is installed with MS Office and also generates electronic rather than paper output.

Thanks, I'll try that. The limitation on exporting to Excel appears to be an Adagio maximum rather than an Excel maximum, however, as our current version of Excel has a larger capacity than 16,381 lines.

That's true. Adagio has to use an 'older' Excel file format for importing and exporting so as not to exclude different versions of Excel. We don't want to force people to upgrade Excel in order to use Adagio.

Indeed Excel 2007 allows a maximum of over 1 million rows.

Not to ask the obvious, but why wait until the end of the month to retrieve the batches?

Hello Holiday:

Using a PDF printer driver works great. You click on the Print button, choose the PDF printer driver, give the file a name and let it run.

The benefits are: Looks exactly like the original report; Can't be altered after the fact so control is better; Can search the document for specific information.

There are good PDF tools available for free such as CutePDF or BullZIP. And there are slightly more capable ones for under $75.00.
