Hello:

I cannot print optional date field 1 on a Pick Slip. There is no error message, just a blank where the date should be.

Notes:
-Optional Date field 1 is defined as "Cancel Date" in company profile.
-The date field is placed on the Pick Slip form header
-An Order is selected that has a Cancel Date filled in
-Other optional fields, including Date 2 will print
-OE 8.1 (080421)

Am I missing something? Thank you.

Hi Bruce,

Which optional date specifcation code do you want to print on the picking slip? There are actually 3 different 'Optional Date 1' fields you can choose from: from the order, from the customer or from the item.

If you want the one from the order (which is what I suspect), then the correct code is E34 and I find that it works as expected. The other codes are C34 (from the customer) and D59 (from the item).

It may be that the pick slip specifcation has a different optional date field than the one you meant to use.

To verify the correct codes, you can always try previewing a document using the 'OE ALL codes' sample specification, which lists and labels all the codes that can be used on specs, and you can identify whether the optional date field you wish to use is printing the desired information.

Hello:

That works! If I use E34, then I get the field from the Order header which is what I want.

Possibly the descriptions could be improved?
E34 = "optional date 1 - header"
C34 = "optional date 1 - customer"
D59 = "optional date 1 - item"

Currrently they all say "optional date 1".

Thank you for your quick response!

Will note the suggestion.

The codes are listed in the Specification Fields list in respective Customer, Order Header and Item sections, so I suppose it was assumed this was enough to differentiate. E codes always are from the order header and C codes are always from the customer. D codes could come from the order detail or the item master record.
