Depending where you try to access the Help Menu from within POA, it crashes about 50% of the time. The error says, "Microsoft Help has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience".

When you click on "Contents" it gives you a screen about "Using Security" and nothing else. When you click on "Index" you get a list of topics, some you can open successfully while about the other 50% crash when you try to open them. When you click on "Find" it finds the topics, but crashes when you try to open one.

I cannot access help on the topics of Autogenerating Orders from Inventory, Autogenerating Orders from Order Entry, Requisitions and many other things I'm trying to learn about.

Is there a way to fix this problem? Also are there any webinars or other options available to better learn how to use this program to it's fullest potential?

Hi Susan

It is obvious, as you have discovered, that POA does not have the help function properly implemented. There also is no manual.

POA is not Softrak's product - it is supported in North America by The Stief Group (www.stiefgroup.com). You should contact them.

Hi Susan:

I'm having the same problem with the Help feature. There's supposedly an update coming in the near future (I can't remember the exact details) that will hopefully fix that issue.
As for the missing manual, I e-mailed the Stief Group about it and they sent me a draft manual via e-mail. I have found them to be very responsive to my e-mails and very helpful. I would e-mail or better yet call them.

Good luck!

Andre

Hi Susan,

As Steve mentioned, we provide support for POA in North America.

The current "Help" system in POA was created a couple of years ago, before many of the new features in the latest releases were included, so there are a number of spots where the links aren't working.

We are hoping to see a new release of POA - version 8.0 - very soon, with a new Help system and user manual to follow shortly after.

You can download the current (old) user manual from PurpleSoft's website at:

http://www.purplesoft.ca/downloads/UserManual/POADraftManual.pdf

If you have questions that are still unanswered you can contact your Adagio/POA consultant (I believe it is Don Wise) or myself (contact information below).

Regards,
