We are currently running A/P 8.0A. I am having a problem clearing old checks. When printing the check reconciliation I have an error pop up saying "error adding record to check rec batch header work file, record already exist". This message comes up many many times and I have yet to get out of it without CTRL+ALT+DEL.

We reconcile our checks via Bank Rec, however were not aware of having to do the same in A/P until just recently (hopefully this will also correct our clearing account problem).

How can I get this check reconciliation to clear?

Hello erin p,

See if this error occurs after your data passes the data integrity check mentioned in your earlier post.

Andrew,

The data integrity check re-build worked great, thank you. Unfortunately I am still getting this same reconciliation error.

Hi Erin,

The error you are receiving indicates that a work file already exists when a new one is to be created. This implies that a file that shouldn't be there in fact exists. Data Integrity Check does not look for temporary report files, which is why your data passes the check - and indeed is clean for everything except printing this report.

Try purging your Temporary files in Windows - as some reports in Adagio uses information here and perhaps it wasn't cleared out.

Also if you have the 'Remember Report Settings' option enabled in the Company Profile, try turning it off. In some older versions of Payables (such as 80A that you indicated is in use), there was a problem after conversion in saving the selection settings. Removing the above option was the easiest way to resolve this - and after successfully printing the report, you can turn it back on.

I did purge my temporary files and turned off that report setting.

When running this report again the same error occurred. I attempted to click "ok" to try and fight through the error and eventually came to an error that reads "to many files open while opening Check Rec Batch Detail, (3004)".

Hi, Erin,

You mentioned earlier that you are using AP8.0A. Would you also check to see what dates are with the version? If you select Help | About from the menu, you will see this information. For example, it might be AP8.0A(051024) or another.

Also, are you using Adagio or Plus Job Costing?

It is version 8.0A (061220) and we are using Adagio.

My next question is... we are intending to upgrade to the latest and greatest versions of our software tonight. Is this error going to be a problem when upgrading? Will we be able to fix it with the newer version or do I need to find a solution before hand?

Thank you for all your help.

Hi, Erin,

Upgrading may help as we are always including enhancements and fixes with all of our updates. It may be that there are some temporary files within your data that may need removing.

You have full support. I'll contact you and we can look for these files.
