In a simple Adagio installation (OE and IC) with 3 users, we are running into some locking issues.

- When user 1 logs in first, user 2 can login but user 3 can't.

- When user 2 logs in first, user 1 can login but user 3 can't.

- When user 3 logs in first, user 1 and user 2 can login.

This was installed by their IT guy who is good at following instructions, but it appears he veered off somewhere. Based upon those symptoms, can anyone provide any potential solutions.

BTW, they are using VISTA

Hi Garry,

Are you able to obtain any more information from your client?

For example, what exactly is the error message they receive? It sounds from your post that they receive it when trying to log in to Adagio?

Is this a new installation or did this behavior just start happening? If so, what has changed? Do they have any LanPaks?

Also, you say they are using VISTA. What kind of server are the using? Are they running peer-to-peer? What versions/dates of Adagio OE and IC are they running?

Sorry for all of the questions but we really do need more information to try to troubleshoot this for you.

Hi Chrissy, Jack and Janet,

My client finally got back to me - I think I see the problem, but I would like the 'official' answer to the problem.

Their peer to peer network is comprised of the following systems (please make sure you are sitting down)

User 1: Windows Vista Home Premium (this is the one with trouble logging in).

User 2: Windows Vista Home Premium (server)

User 3: Windows XP Home Service Pack 2.

User 4: Windows XP Professional NO service packs.

Hi Gary,

You're working late!

Can you answer any of the other questions posed by Chrissy, Jack and Janet?

I can answer some of them. I just assumed it was a VISTA HOME issue since we have always stayed away from HOME products on networks.

The problem machine generates no "error message". It just continues to "spin" when you try to start the program in Vista. If the server logs out, she can go into the program, and then the server can sign back in.
