Yesterday Andrew presented the .ColSpec feature in Financial Reporter.

I'm trying it today and I can't make it work. The line does not automatically hide. If I place [1]M at the top of the column, the numbers don't change.

My GL has the most recent updates.

Thanks

Good morning,

Do you have .SmartSheet in cell A1? If not, either type it in cell A1 or point in the cell, right click and select 'Make SmartSheet'.

Once .SmartSheet exists in cell A1, position your cursor in column A of the row you want to create the .ColSpec row, right click and select 'Make .ColSpec'. That cell and the entire row will appear in blue indicating that the row will be hidden when printed.

For the numbers in the columns to change, you not only need the account data token (eg. [1]M) in the .ColSpec row for the column, but the formulas for the rows following the .ColSpec row must contain a foluma such as GLAMT, GLCREDT, GLCRONLY, etc.

Thanks. I did have .SmartSheet in cell A1 but I typed in the .colSpec so maybe that's the problem. I'll try the right click.

I'm now looking at the sample spreadsheet "ColSpecSelectField.sam".

So how do you do the drop box?

Thanks

Open View | Account Data from the menu if it's not already.

Drag another account data token to the .Colspec cell with your original token in it (the one with '[1]M' in it). When you click on the cell again, a dropdown arrow will display enabling you to select whichever token you want.
