Hi there. I am trying to delete old jobs from JC and I'm getting the message: "Job 4L10 cannot be deleted because of existing transactions, estimates or change orders. To delete this job use the close/purge procedures."

What procedures is it refering to? This particular job was closed in 2002 in AccPac, however it was archived before closing so it was not able to be deleted so when we moved over to Adagio JC it came too, and I would really like to be rid of it. I am unable to delete any of its estimates because it tells me to enter a change order to reduce the price to zero. I can't enter a c/o because the job is closed.

Can you help me with this one?

Hello Jean,

The facility to archive jobs was not available in Plus JC. I'm wondering if perhaps the job has been set to be kept as a template.

To determine this, edit the job and look for the 'Keep as template' checkbox and turn it off (uncheck it).

The job had been set as a template in AccPac and then closed(before we switched to Adagio). We were unable to reopen the job in AccPac in order to "un-template" it, so when we transferred everything to Adagio it came over as a template & closed job. Now Adagio JC won't let me uncheck the "Keep as template" box because the job is closed. It tells me "Job 4L10 is closed. To edit this job it must be reopened with the close job function." But there's no option to reopen the job in the close job function. How do I reopen the job? Surely there must be a way to get rid of it??

Hi, Jean,

In Adagio JobCost, to reopen a job, simply access Maintenance | Close Jobs and select the previously closed job. Then, make sure the Close Date field is highlighted and delete the date.

When you click OK, you will effectively be reopening the job so you can edit it.
