Not a complaint just a concern and minor irritant.

I love the fact that you have electronic manuals. My problem is that it appears that none of them are dated. Some say version 8.0 or 4th Edition. This doesn't provide a date of reference to try to make sure it covers the most current version installed.

Example: I know there were changes/additions to the Financial Reporter recently (don't remember exactly what they were because I saw the note in the release notes). Now I am trying to find the exact documentation and would like to make sure I am reading the right/most current manual.

Hello Kay,

Generally, our electronic manuals are updated along with the products. If there are last minute additions, they'll be in the "readme.hlp" file installed with the application (in the \xxWIN subdirectory). You can also find the Release Note for every product off the compatibility list, that details all the changes that have been made from the previous version (although I will grant that some of the descriptions may be a bit "terse"). It is also true, that sometimes updates to the product don't impact the documentation sufficiently to justify generating a new revision of the manual - hence the decision not to "date" them, just "version" them.

I think the electronic financial reporter manual is quite up to date, and we work hard to make sure that the electronic help text is current for the build.

I totally understand your position and can work with it. On your website is there a way to indicate the most current update date of the manuals/files? I think we need something to be to sort through the different releases.

When I want to read a manual or research something, I unconditionally re-download the manual just to make sure I have the most current manual. I guess I have to assume that it is the most up to date available. This really isn't that difficult to do.

Thanks

Hi Kay,

You're right - the most up to date manual will always be the electronic one on the web. We do provide the date of last update to the manual on the download page. Were you looking for something more?

Thanks for using Adagio!

Thanks.
