Client's data has lots of pairs of files that consist of CRF###'I.xxx and CRF###'R.xxx. Now there are 1618 of them. These appear to be created by uses of the finder, but I expected them to be deleted when exiting the module. Instead they have accumulated.

Date range is from 11/4/05 to 1/5/07. They installed AR 8.0B on 1/5/07, so perhaps this was a problem in earlier versions that is now corrected.

Can these all be deleted?

Just a thought: If your client is using a Novell network, it is possible to set the rights to allow creation and read/write of files but not deletion. Could an over-zealous network administrator done something like this?

The CRF files are saved SmartFinder searches and were not being deleted correctly in version 8.0A of Receivables. As long as no-one is in the data, you can safely delete them.

I believe that version 8.0B of Adagio Receivables correctly deals with this. Here is text from the release notes for this upgrade:

Temporary smart finder search results files were not deleted when the program was closed, leaving files beginning with CRF in the data directory.
