For the first time since I started using TB, I can not retrieve a billings batch in to AR.

I get this error message:
"Cannot open files (Path), code[1]"

The file is there and has a size. Data intergrity checks come out fine.

Help!

Can you copy the file from one place to another? Perhaps your network connection has got flakey? Certainly nothing else has changed from last Friday, has it?

Finally, I was suddenly able to retrieve the billings into AR but this morning I can't retrieve AP into TB.

I've been having a lot of other problems with TB lately - when I open a project, the rates don't show up automatically any more. Things like that.

This is sounding more and more like a hardware issue - perhaps a flakey network connection or failing hard disk. Are you running T&B over a network on on your local hard disk?

Hard Drive.

The only module that's misbehaving is TB but it could be the hard drive.

I thought of defragmenting but the last time I defragmented a drive, I ended up with a real mess!

Well Andrew, I have uncovered the culprit.
I know this sounds wacky but we are dealing woth Windows here!

After the Tips and Tricks seminar, I put the Excel and Word links into the Adagio menu.ini file.

I also added the directory and extension into the shortcut parameter.

Word and Excel showed up in the Adagio menu in all the modules except TB.

I undid both these tricks and now everything's fine again.

Well - there's some other co-incidence at work...

You'll be able to use the updated Adagio menu when Time&Billing V8.0A is available (any day now).
