I have a Workspace with two Views. The primary one lists a summary of transactions from Adagio invoices history and is filtered by date (using Andrew's suggestion of using hidden columns for the starting and ending dates).

A link opens a second View that lists details on those invoices that meet the link criterion (one of the optional fields). However, this View is not filtered by date unless I put the same date columns and filter in it. This means that every time I double-click on a link, I have to re-enter the dates.

Is there any way to make the subsidiary View inherit the same filter criteria as the primary one?

Why aren't you linking on the document number though to display the details?

In this case, the client is a regional delivery/hauling compnay. The optional field contains the driver ID. Since several "drivers" may be involved in one waybill, that is stored with the detail lines to allow distributing the amounts among the drivers.

The report takes the various revenues by driver with a detail report for each driver and a summary to enter into payroll. So I have to select on the optional field.

It looks like a job for Crystal Reports.

Thinking about this, there is no date to "filter on" in the line details, so that wouldn't work. However, there's a feature in the next release of GridView that may help out here.

Expect to see a new release "shortly".
