A question was recently asked about the installation of Adagio and the Report Tables drive selection. What does this do?

Also, the workstation setup component is giving a warning message about an incorrect report tables drive being set on the workstation. Should they follow the instructions on-screen to let the process re-set the tables drive?

The Report Tables Drive in Adagio is a setting in the workstation Windows Registry that indicates where Adagio should search for the tables required when printing the standard reports. This information is updated in the Registry when you either install an Adagio program or run the workstation setup from that workstation.

The Report Tables Drive is initially determined on the installation of any Adagio program. Two things happen: 1) A directory \QRASP is created in the root of the selected drive with the necessary tables installed within and 2) A configuration file is updated with that choice, so that the workstation setup from other workstations will use the same information.

You may get messages regarding an incorrect Report Tables Drive if you install an Adagio program or upgrade and select a different drive than in use before. You may also get this error if you move Adagio programs to a new server that uses a new mapped server drive letter.

The best way to resolve this is to re-install one Adagio program, setting the Report Tables drive as a shared network drive, and ideally the same server drive on which Adagio is installed. Then run the workstation setup for one Adagio program while logged into the workstation as the User (especially important for Windows 2000 and XP users).
======
You may get a workstation install message that the Report Tables drive is currently some value, yet no tables exist there, or perhaps that during the installation of Adagio a different value was selected. This would be likely be due to re-mapping network drives or moving program files, and not reinstalling Adagio. The end of this error message asks if you want to change the Report Tables drive on the workstation to the original value. It is recommended to choose Yes, as this will change the Windows Registry setting to the original value. You can do no worse by accepting that change, and the worst scenario is that you need to reinstall Adagio and re-do the workstation setup.
=====
When completing this process, it is advised to run the CHKSYS utility (located in the \softrak\system directory). This identifies that the Report Tables drive is 'correct' and can find all applicable tables. All missing tables will be reported by this utility. If any are found, likely they exist on a different drive by mistake. The recommended solution is to re-install that Adagio program, using the correct Report tables drive, as above.

Thank you - that has always been one of the more confusing messages in Adagio (not that it's less confusing now, but at least I know what to do about it).
