I am running GL 6.8B 021120 on Windows XP

When I attempt to print a trial balance I get the error message "Unable to create directory GLTR0002 in C:\Documents\Dave\Local\Temp

and cannot proceed past this point. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

To accomodate the multi-instance capablilty of version 6.8B and also to improve report speed, Adagio creates a temporary file and copies it to the local Windows Temp directory, as defined in your Environmental Variables setup. The directory GLTR0002 is the correct name for the Ledger Trial Balance report, and the path you quoted is the likely location of your Windows / Temp files.

What usually is the case (especially in XP) is that there is a rights/permissions issue where you are unable to create a folder or file in this directory. Are you able to save other files (such as a Word document or Excel spreadsheet) in this directory? If the answer is 'no', then you need to look at workstation directory permissions.

Most likely (for others reading this), the default Windows Temp location will be C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Local Settings\Temp.
