To email financial statements we use convert to excel in financial reporter. The financial statement always loses some formatting in the process. Can the financial reporter file be converted to a PDF directly?

Why in converting to excel do lines and bold formatting disappear? Also the content of some cells disappear.

There have been suggestions made to R&D previously for improved formatting when exporting to Excel - thanks for your observations! I am not sure if it is something they have control over or not, but if so - they will try! PDF is a good suggestion as well, I'll enter that for you.

How about trying the export using the 'Export to HTML...' option. The receivers would open it as an HTML document (I had reasonably good success when trying this using MS Internet Explorer V6) - all formatting seemed to be retained using this method.
