I've had issues with the invoice spec for some time now. I have too much space between my disbursement headings creating what should be 1 page invoices, into 2,3,4 page invoices. MAJOR paper waste!! No matter what I do to my spec, I can't seem to fix this problem. The person that installed and set up Adagio for me has not been able to figure out the problem. HELP!!

Hi RKTG07,

Are you attempting to print Receivables statement specifications, as the topic title indicates? Or is this for printing bills out of Time&Billing, as the word 'Disbursement' in your description suggests? Or a different application? Knowing which program you are using to print invoices will help.

If this is Time&Billing invoices, the scenario could be not only how the specification is designed, but also how the disbursements are entered into the bill batch - affecting grouping, consolidation, etc.

As Time&Billing specs tend to be quite complicated, we may have to work with your Adagio consultant in order to determine the solution, including getting a copy of your spec file and perhaps even a copy of the data exhibiting the problem.

Yes, it is the billing spec from TBR. We previously used AccPac Plus so the spec was pulled from existing data. How do I go about getting a copy to you. Should I forward a copy of the spec plus a copy of an existing bill to my rep and have him forward it to you?

Your rep is Wayne, I believe? Yes, going through him would work out OK. Would need at the very least the TB$xxxxx spec file. A copy of the bill is interesting too, but we may also need a backup copy of the data in order to determine that changes to the spec indeed work. Make sure a bill batch exists that exhibits the spacing problem, then do a 'Related Data' backup from the File menu in Time&Billing.

We received a copy of your data and spec and know what is causing the number of blank lines when printing disbursements on bills. Essentially, these disbursements were retrieved from Payables and the description that went to WIP has 5 rows, and some of these blank. Your bill has the disb detail section, which will print one row for every description line, or in your case, 5 double-spaced lines. This wasn't visible because you chose not to use the K03 code to print the Disbursement WIP description.

There are 2 ways to address this.
1) Don't use the Disbursement Detail section on the spec. Instead, put all info you currently have into the Disbursement Footer section.

2) Change the way AP disbursement descriptions are retrieved into Time&Billing. Having only one line of text (instad of 5) will reduce significantly the white space on the bill. This can be modified on the same screen where you do the actual retrieval from A/P.
