Hi Roger
It sounds like you have a date "hard coded" into the invoice specification you are using.
To find out if this is the case, go into the Specification by selecting the following steps at the main QIP menu:
4. Housekeeping
6. Maintain specifications
This will bring you to the main "Edit Specifications" screen. You will see the specifications listed on the left. The one you are currently using will be listed on the right, beside the "Quik Invoice Plus - invoice" heading, under "File".
To check and/or modify this spec, select it from the list on the left by selecting "Edit" from the options listed across the bottom of this screen. After pressing "Enter" on the specification name, you will be taken to the actual spec document.
Looking at one of your printed invoices, you should be able to determine where the date fields are that need changing. If they are "hard coded" the year portion of the date will be shown as "2000", instead of the actual year spec code of "%E22.Y".
There is now a spec code available that will print a 4-digit year, rather than 2. To get the 4-digit year to print, use the code "%E22.F" for the year portion of the date in place of what exists there now.
Once you have finished editing your spec, Press Escape & Save changes; you will be taken back to the main specification edit screen. Once at this screen, you must select "Make Active", select the invoice spec from the right, you will be taken to the list on the left (it should automatically go to the proper spec, but if not, you must select it now). Press Enter on the spec you just modified, say YES to make it active again, then you can press Escape to back out of this area. You are now ready to try printing an invoice again.
The .F code was implemented in the first release of V6.5A (980615). The most current release of QIP, is V6.7A (001122). If you are on a current upgrade plan, you should have received it, if not, perhaps you should contact your Dealer about upgrading to this or the Adagio Invoices. Since Adagio will convert your DOS specs, until you have implemented the change in your existing spec, you would likely run into the same problem after starting to use Adagio, however, Adagio has many other features and enhancements that the DOS version does not - so you may wish to get a demonstration of Adagio first, before you make your decision. Your Dealer can help you with this.
