We bought and installed the program some time ago but never used it. We are now trying to enter the program but the User ID and password are not recognized. Can we go back to the default settings? The computer had to be repaired so something may have been lost. We can't find the installation disks. Would appreciate some advice from your tech staff.

Dear John

The default username and password is SYS and SYS, respectively.

If you still cannot get in to QCWIN after entering these, then the file containing this information (ezusrfil.ld4) either has been lost or damaged.

If you use QCWIN with ACCPAC Plus, then this file will be in your ASP directory. If you use only QCWIN, then it will be in the Softrak\System directory. In either case, if entering SYS and SYS doesn't work, you can do one of the following:

If you use ACCPAC Plus with QCWIN:
- Copy the ezusrfil.ld4 file from the Softrak\System directory and paste it into your ASP directory

In any other case:
- Rename or remove (delete) the ezusrfil.ld4 file from Softrak\System (it will be recreated the next time you try to go in to QCWIN)

** NOTE ** Any usernames and passwords other than SYS & SYS will be lost and will have to be re-entered. Some Softline (ACCPAC Options) applications use this file as well, such as Contact Master for Windows.

Hope this helps!

I have found the ezusrfil.Id4 file in the Accplus ASP directory. It is 1KB. However I do not know how to find this file in the Softrak\system directory in order to paste it to the ASP directory as you have recommended. Can you give me some further instructions please. John

Hi John,

If you do not have an ezusrfil.ld4 file in the \softrak\system directory, then what you can do is simply rename the one you currently have in \ASP. Upon opening Quik Check for Windows, the ezusrfil should be recreated. You will be required to use SYS for both the user name and password, and all other users that may have been on file will have to be re-entered.

Should this not help (I think it will), could you post what sort of network setup you have (ie Novell/NT/Peer-Peer) and any other pertinant info such as where the programs and data are located, etc? Thank you.

I renamed the ezusrfil.ld4 file and the SYS username and password now work. Next I have to figure out how to actually use the program. Thanks
