If we go in to inventory, then in to reports, then transaction reports, then transaction history, and we choose a start and end range of items, then click print, a report will print (all good so far), and then a little box comes up with a notice that says "Do you want to purge printed history from file".

I wish to be able to nullify that option. Sometimes we have "quick" fingers at work here, and someone has erased all the history from a particular item.

How do I go about making this more secure?

Thank you very much for any help tendered.

You can prevent selected users from printing the Transaction History report, but if they can print it, they can delete the history.

Would you like Softrak to consider making the various "purge/clear" items after reports controllablw\e with the Group setup?

If enough people ask them to do this, it might move it up the priority list.

All of the administrative people have a need at one time or another to print this kind of report, to have data to work from. To turn it off and on as the occasion presents itself is quite bothersome.

I would strongly recommend that this be a feature that comes in an upgrade soon. I have lost all of the history relating to one item because of a pop up window that really should not be so readily available.

Thank you for the answer to my question.

I agree that this should be more secure and will request a change.

Have a look at the Transaction History Inquiry to see if this would work instead. There is no option to purge history here.

The other option would be a custom report so that the Transaction History report is bypassed. This would not be an inexpensive solution.

I have also found automatically hitting "YES" without realizing you are purging, has happened a number of thimes with differents users in the office. I agree a change would be helpful.

Yes, being able to print information for review is entirely different to purging it and should be controlled separately with respect to security.

While I understand the relationship in that it is desirable to print the data before deleting it, companies we must be able to control who can delete data and this is needed throughout the Adagio suite and is a priority.

We also need to get to the point that we can tell who did what and when with respect to tracking user ID's and the dates that key functions are performed.
