We would like to have the option to use longer item codes than our current 13 characters. How do we change this?

You need to contact your reseller. They can usually make this change. The maximum size is 16 characters in up to 4 user-defined segments.

Some data surgery is required. As long as you are not looking to insert characters into the middle of the existing item numbers it is not a big job.
